The End of Insecure Desire
Where desire leads us astray

Desire comes in many forms; some are necessary, and others are not. The longing for something more creates a sense of urgency within us to achieve. The Buddha believed the pursuit of desire (was he called taṇhā) was the route to suffering (dukkha). He said,
“If you sleep, Desire grows in you Like a vine in the forest.…
